PositiveThe Chesapeake was very nice. If you have a car, parking seems to be a problem. It is very high end, and it is very costly. You have to pay something to get into it, and then you have a monthly fee. The amenities are very, very nice. It's probably one of the nicer ones around. I really couldn't find anything wrong with it; it's just very, very high end. The apartment sizes are fairly nice. They have a beauty shop inside. Their food was very, very good. They have a bus to take you to places. They have…

PositiveThe Chesapeake was too large for me. The people were nice. I did not eat any meals there, but they offered. They offered quite a few other things that you could do that the other place did not. They had one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, and they were nice. They had therapy rooms and a few more amenities than the other place had. It was clean, and the staff during the tour was very good. I just didn't like the fact that they didn't have assigned parking in the location.

CriticalHorrible place my mother went there for rehab for shoulder replacement staff was very unprofessional we had to force a nursing change the first had alcohol on her breath they would never answer the calls when my mother had to use the restroom the doctor didn’t bother to look at what medication my mother was allergic to they call from blocked numbers the social worker [name removed] is a habitual liar she straight lied to our face more than once ! Horrible people all they want is your money! they basically could car…

PositiveCan't say enough good things about the health care unit at the Chesapeake. My dad, who was a Chesapeake resident in both independent & assisted living, had to be admitted into the health care unit several times. Every nurse, administrator, assistant, housekeeper and every other health care unit staff member was professional, cheerful, and always at the ready to do all that was necessary. My dad died in that wing, but not after all that could be done for him had been done by that loving staff. They also did…

CriticalMy father lives at The Chesapeake nursing home, and he is in healthcare there. I don't have good thoughts about them at all. They need improvement in all areas. It goes from independent living, to assisted living to healthcare, and he's been in all areas. In independent living, you pretty much do fine because you take care of yourself. When it gets down into any of the other areas where you have to have assistance, they don't have enough help. They're just not the best, but it's an absolute…
