PositiveMy husband and I moved to the independent living community of The Goldton at Athens. We had looked at several, and we love this place. It's just very convenient, it's very big, and very clean. It's really nice. Our apartment has lots of room and is very convenient. They have games and activities every day. I don't always go because we have to walk across the lawn to the other building to participate, but I've participated in quite a few. The food is very good. It's not huge servings, w…

PositiveThe Goldton has been awesome! Daddy moved in a little over two years ago. It has been a blessing for us! The apartments are a nice size. There are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy. All of the staff is great - they treat Daddy like family!

PositiveWe toured The Goldton at Athens. It has its little buildings, and the yard is taken care of, which is what we're interested in. Independent living seemed to aid in the transition that we needed. They also have a dining area and exercise room.

PositiveMy mom lived there for a handful of months. She had an issue with overpowering air fresheners that aggravated her COPD and that was never resolved. During her stay the facility also lost their cook and the meals were not great while they searched for a new staff member. I felt she was safe and the staff was friendly and kind, but it was definitely a poor fit for her. The stay came to a planned end, but if it had been a permanent move we would have been looking for a new home for her.

PositiveI have been visiting people who are living at The Goldton at Athens. I have been there recently since I have some relatives in their assisted living. The facilities are fine and I'm impressed with their cafeteria. I also like the mood of the place and the cleanliness. The staff knows what they are doing and they are good people.
