PositiveThe Huntington has the "Most Wonderful" and "Professional" staff ever! The care from the staff, and all who meet the needs of the people who live there, including the Dining Room staff and all of the Aides and loving caregivers, are Awesome. May God Bless them all. Sincerely and with Love, Marguerite Allario

CriticalMost of the staff are very nice and caring. The front-desk receptionist and new staff supervisor are excellent. However, the building maintenance, security and food are poor. There’s no one at the front desk at night. The overhead lights on the entrance canopy are all burned out. The central a.c. doesn’t work. And the food is worse than hospital food.

PositiveI toured Huntington at the Newport. I like the size of the rooms and their floorplan. The tour person was great. They had lots of dining options and activities. They were just very nice. The staff was amazing. She was very good. They have a beauty salon, a garden, and a library. It's great. It was very nice and clean. When we went during Christmas it was decorated nicely.

CriticalMy mom has been in Huntington at The Newport for a couple of weeks now. There are lots of good things about it, and then there are things that aren't so good. My mom needs more help than they seem to be giving, but some really nice ladies work there, and I like that. Sometimes it's hard to get somebody in if my mom has to go to the bathroom. She pushes her pendant and sometimes it takes a while to get people in there. Her apartment is nice though. It's a pretty good place. It's as good as you&ap…

CriticalWe visited a friend and she wanted some ice for drink. The aide was too busy to get it for us , so my husband went down to kitchen to get some . As soon as he turned on the lights about 20 roaches scattered all over the floor. He got the ice , came right back up and said we’re leaving. The place is just 5 yrs old , but because of that , we would not recommend this place to anybody. Also, a lady in a wheelchair was coming down hallway and she was crying. We asked her what was the matter . She said she couldn’t go to…

CriticalThe meals are usually not very good. Access to the Assisted Living section is only open Mon. - Fri. 9 to 5. Needs to be open on weekends. Hard to take family members out and hard to bring in items to residents when these doors are locked. The closest entrance is too far away and too far to walk. Rooms need to be dusted more often and more thoroughly. Staff and activities are excellent.
