Significant Decline in Care Since Corporate Takeover

Our experience has declined significantly since the facility was purchased by a corporation. Staff turnover has been constant, and many of the changes made since the acquisition have negatively affected the quality and consistency of care. Cleanliness has noticeably suffered, and activities have been reduced, apparently due to staffing shortages. Most concerning has been the clinical care. There have been repeated issues with missed medications for my mother, which have contributed to multiple emergency hospitaliz…

How to Make An Old Guy Feel Young Again

My overall experience has been very good. As you know, the ownership has recently changed and the new executives have only been here a week. I personally haven't met any of them yet, but I will soon. However, the service people, who are mostly young women, are very pleasant and good at their jobs. The rooms are very nice - mine has a porch - and the entire place is clean. The new owners have done a terrific job in updating the foodservice. All the residents are provided with a weekly menu along with a daily menu wi…

Review for Fellowship at Carolina Park

The good: The facility was clean, newer, and in a good location. The bad: It was very understaffed—staff were rarely visible in memory care during my visits. My father disliked the food, and items frequently went missing.

Corporate Priorities Seem to Override Personalized Care

Their biggest struggle is being bought out by another corporation as soon as she moved in over there. There is massive staff turnover which translates into no consistency and misinformation among new employees. Leadership is OK but not responsive. Standard of care is met appropriately but nothing over and above to mention. The meal plan and menu items started out great but as soon as it's sold to another company, the quality diminished substantially and now it seems they cannot afford to keep portions appropriate, …

Needs improvement

They needed more help in memory care . Not enough aides for the amount of people with memory problems. They need to have activities that more memory care patients would be interested in participating . They could do more with music participation or have someone come in and play music that they could clap or sing along. Food could have been geared towards people that may have some trouble eating especially since they gave a plastic fork to eat . Pork chops are tough to eat if they aren't cut up . A system where th…
