CriticalOur family's experience - Friendly but understaffed
I think the staff is very nice and caring but I don't think there are enough caretakers there. There are times I've been there and never see any caretakers and my Aunt is left sitting at the dining table or living room until someone comes to move her. We had to get hospice involved to have more care for her. Which is fine since she needs changing and bathing more often. The food does not look very appealing to me. I don't think my Aunt likes it that much either. Breakfast food is fine tho. The place seems clean but…

Mom wasn't very happy with the food. However, we felt like family there. According to my mom, the did just didn't taste good. She wasn't there long, so she just may have needed to get used to something different.

The Opal at Bluewater Bay was convenient for me because I can be there in about five or ten minutes from where I live. The rooms were nice. Everything was nice. I had no problem with it. They had all the services you needed. They had physicians on call. They have a beautiful dining area. The people all seemed to be nice. There's a sitting area and all kinds of recreation there. As soon as I walked through the front door I was greeted by [removed name] the marketing director and [removed name] the executive director. Question were answered and a tour. It felt like home. My mother is moving in, she didn't like the big communities to sterile she said.
