PositiveMy mom went into rehab at The Pavilion at Queens for Rehabilitation & Nursing. She is Asian and speaks more Cantonese than English. She speaks some English, but she's more comfortable in a Chinese community, and they have a pretty prominent Chinese patient population because it's in Flushing, New York. The facility seems very clean. There's no unusual odor. The staff is very kind. They have their set rules. Most importantly, it was the cleanliness and the Chinese community for my mom that I was l…

CriticalThey claim to perform hourly rounds on the respiratory floor. They don't. My husband was sent there after surviving several life-threatening surgeries due to a burst brain aneurysm with a tracheotomy temporarily until it rhealed and he could be transferred to a different facility. He lasted three weeks. He passed away after the doctors at the emergency room he was taken to told me he asphyxiated on his on own vomit. Staff is extremely negligent. Ask for their hourly tour logs, they have none because no one.che…

PositiveMy husband was in Dr. William O. Benson Rehabilitation Pavilion for 4 months. It did not feel so much like a nursing home. It was not littered with old people in the hallways. They got people going and happy. Most of the staff was very good. The rehabilitation team was excellent. My husband went in there only able to move his arms, and when he came out, he learned to walk again in such a short time. It was amazing. The rehab team was amazing. The food was not bad at all. The meal selections were good. They had acti…

CriticalMy mom is in a nursing home called William Benenson Rehab, and I am not impressed with it at all. It was a matter of her go to a nursing home with dialysis on the premises, and that was a very vital decision because she was in a hospital. This facility was the only one that responded, but had I known that they would be short on staff, I would not have done it. I would have went somewhere else. If they had more people working then it would be OK.
