Overall good - a couple of issues after the move in. Food service ends at 5 pm and early on the weekends. They have been short staffed in restaurant. The housekeeping is supposed to come every 2 weeks and they have only come to MILs one time since she moved in at the end of May.

Residents and the activities are fantastic! I just loved how welcome they made me feel. Only downside was the food didn’t feel super fresh. Made me wish it was more home made tasting. Other than that and hearing that the maintenance is less to be desired.

I was having lunch with a family member, if you could call it that, and had one of the worst experiences. First, the food tasted like it was all processed, and fried in dirty oil. While our waiter([name removed]) was amazing, a waitress for a neighboring table was beyond disrespectful. I was so shocked listening to [name removed] welcome the table with “what do you want”, “you can read the menu can’t you”(when asked for the special), just no tact. PositiveWonderful place to live!
The people who live and work at Verena are what make it special for me. Having been recently widowed, I was worried about fitting in prior to moving here. But everyone is very friendly and inclusive. There are a variety of activities to accommodate people and you can be as busy as you choose. They have various apartment sizes to choose from, I have a one bedroom and it is perfect for my needs. I'm very happy I chose Verena at Leander for this stage of my life.

Verena at Leander is exquisite. It's an independent living community, and it was beautiful. It had transportation, food, and everything was included. I think they also have an exercise room and a library. The person who gave the tour was very friendly and very informative. The residents seemed very active, too. PositiveWonderful transition from house to apartment living
When looking for a place for mom or dad, give us a look. Leaving a house is a difficult choice. I have personally lived in 4 different properties over the last 8 years and Verena at Leander is by far the best. I feel safe, well fed and have transportation to where I need to go (within a certain distance). Grocery store (HEB) and Wal Mart runs are made about once a week. Everyone is friendly and accepting.
