CriticalMy mom was at The Waters of Martinsville. They were very short on staff, and their director of nursing was quitting in the same month I visited. The food was not very good at all. They would take a long time to respond when you put your light on, and there weren't that many activities to keep the people busy. Whenever you ask for something to be done it wouldn't get done. The staff was nice. I didn't have a problem with the staff. It is just they didn't implement any things to be done in the rig…

PositiveMy sister moved into The Waters of Martinsville three weeks ago. They seem to care about her as an individual, so I like that. So far, I've been relatively happy. My sister is blind and although she can't see, it could use some sprucing up, just updates. I'm well pleased with the cleanliness and structure of the building. But it could use some updates. The activities that I've seen so far are playing bingo and playing cards. And they had a TV with some sports on. The community has a very welcomi…

CriticalMy step-father was in there for rehab after taking the Covid-jab. As a whole, the staff doesn't care and they neglect the residents. Their policy allows staff who were working directly with Covid patients to then work with other residents which is how my step-father got sick. To make a long story short, since the illness around Thanksgiving 2023, he continued getting worse due to the neglect. It is now August 3rd 2024 and he is dying. Do NOT put your loved ones in The Waters of Martinsville! They will kill your lov…

PositiveMy dad was transferred to the Waters of Martinsville when he entered hospice care. The staff was amazing. Not only knowledgeable, but also friendly and kind. My mother and I felt very at home when visiting my dad. The staff stayed in communication with us and kept us updated on my Dad's condition when we took breaks away from the facility. After my Dad passed, my Mom and I talked about how much we missed the staff at the Waters of Martinsville. The facility was cleaned and smelled good.

PositiveFriends who had family members at The Waters of Martinsville recommended the place to me. It was clean, smelled good, and was well lit. They allowed the residents to smoke outside, if they are smokers. It was cheaper than some of the other places, which played a part in my decision. All in all, it just looked like something that my mom will be comfortable with. They had a place for rehabilitation, a room for smoking, a place for birthday celebrations, and a bus that will take them out to different restaurants or sh…
