PositiveMy brother has moved into Wesley on Grand. The community is welcoming and well-organized. They're very interested in his level of functioning. They did a good assessment when he was brought in by the nurse to make sure that he was being properly cared for in the right unit. They had obtained his medical information and had conversations with his family members. They were very informative to the family members as well as to my brother, so it was a very smooth transition. My brother settled in his room very nice…

PositiveI had an in-person tour of Wesley on Grand. It's hard to find anything you don't like about the place. It has a very nice structure and was recently remodeled. It's a Tudor-style setting. They also had a nice, heated pool area. My mom likes to swim, so knowing that was important. It had exercise equipment and ramps. They had different kinds of treadmills and bicycles. The grounds are quite stunning. They had a lot of nice restaurants. The staff we met was very nice. The facility was very clean, and i…

PositiveI am a traveling nurse and often go to this community. Wesley Acres my favorite spot in the rotation - It is well-run by a wonderful management team, clean, and always have the stuff I need to take care of my patients.

PositiveMy father is living in Wesley Acres. What we liked about it was they have three levels of care in the assisted living area. They kind of base it on what your needs are. You have to pay for a commitment of two years. Once my dad runs out of money, they don't make them move someplace else. They have ways to keep him where he's at. I like the idea that he doesn't have to move again, unless he's moving into a nursing home setting or memory care; that is all offered right there. The unit that he is i…

CriticalMy first impression of Wesley Acres Des Moines was not that nice. It's very old, but their rooms were adequate. My dad was at the end of the hallway so I would say that their staff did not do a good job. He was okay with their food there. He's there for physical therapy so they assist him more with walking and getting in and out of the chair. I think they need more people in order to improve their service.

PositiveWesley Acres was very nice, very clean, organized, and very friendly. I liked everything about it in general. They had activities and tours.
