High turnover of staff, and administration

Make sure you do your due diligence on this place. We had our parents here and the first administrator. [name removed] was fabulous and so was the staff after she left. Everything went downhill.. we have since had two administrators with the latest one, [name removed] always complaining to residents . everyone is overworked and they are understaffed. You can tell the difference in the staffs attitude. No one seems happy . The activities are basic not very engaging , and the call bell response is now very long. When…

The food at YAL is exceptionally good, including salmon, linguine with white clam sauce, beef stew, tacos, chicken cutlet. There is a choice of entree at each meal and the kitchen is most responsive to requests. The cost is very expensive, but includes laundry individual for each resident, arts and crafts, live music every week and visits by farm animals. There is physical fitness every day and chair zumba and chair yoga once a week. The resident rooms are cleaned and vacuumed weekly. The staff is not more understa…

What they promise is not what you get .There is nothing good that I can say . My in laws live here and paying over 12k and very unhappy . The food is bland and un appetizing . We pay extra to have cable , almost 300 a mth , becuase the facilities doesn’t work . The AC and heat are not able to be controlled in their room so they are either super hot or really cold . The activities are sad .. and the nurses are over work and under staffed . Don’t move here . .

I visited this facility

I toured Yorktown Assisted Living. It seemed like they had lots of activities for the memory care unit. It was not that clean and a much older facility. They are scheduled for some updates that are needed. The staff was very friendly, very thorough, very personable, easy to talk with, and got honest responses and answers. The atmosphere was so homey and welcoming. The size of the rooms was somewhat small, sort of a college dorm room. Definitely in need of some renovation.

Yorktown Assisted Living - a 5-star facility

Yorktown Assisted Living has all of the best aspects of a warm, loving and caring home. Residents' rave about the incredible quality of the cuisine. The list of activities is too long to list here but it certainly gives residents many intellectual challenges. I must also mention the many live music performances residents enjoy each week and special events such as Casino Night. The staff, all professionally trained and loving, take excellent care of all residents and housekeeping keeps the entire facility spotless.

Very Happy with Yorktown ALR !

Hi, my 89 year old father moved here over 6 weeks ago from the Firemen’s Home in Hudson, NY. He’s from the local area and wanted to be closer to family and friends. And also wanted his own living space, which he never had for the past 11 months at the Firemen’s Home. My Dad is confined to a wheelchair, can’t walk and has severe osteoarthritis. I was happy to find out that Yorktown ALR accepts patients with wheelchairs. An aide even wheels him to the dining hall for his meals. My Dad has a beautiful apartment, with…
