CriticalIn my 1.5 years here, rent raised twice, by 10%,while quality of food has deteriorated tremendously with many shortages.. Staff works hard, pleasantly, but are subject to harsh treatment by unhappy residents.
★★★★★
CriticalThe daily exercise is great. The place is very nice. The problem is the consistency. The wait staff can be mean to the residents. The aides are understaffed and overwhelmed. The food can be inedible at times. Though I am hopeful with the new head of food services that was just hired. The wellness center is inconsistent and not on top of the med situation as it should be. For the amount of money my mom is paying, I expected better service and care. The physical therapist is wonderful. Overall my mother gets the …

PositiveMy friend is extremely happy there. The staff is helpful and kind, and the facility is kept clean. The apartment has everything she needs and she loves the view of the courtyard. I have joined her on several occasions for lunch and have been impressed with the quality of the food. There are activities all week long, including discussions, lectures, art shows and games. She also likes being walking distance to town and occasionally strolls around. There also a free service that you can sign up for and they will tran…

CriticalThere are some good aspects of Atria, some of the staff and the activities. The wellness center is a joke. The aides and waitstaff can be rude and very nasty. My mother is not happy there but this is what I am hearing at all of the assisted living places. The management doesn't hire enough staff and the aides are overwhelmed and they take their stress out of the residents. I am very disappointed in assisted living. My mom is paying a lot of money. She just wants to relax and feel safe and instead she is yelled at a…

PositiveMy friend loves the activities including the movies and lectures. People are very friendly and she's made nice friends. She also loves that it is near town and the daily light cleaning. She feels the food needs improvement. She is gluten intolerant and she can't get a gluten free meal most of the time. I am wondering why that should be a problem when so many people have this issue. They bread a lot of the food and she vomits quite often because of that. They also put pepper in food and she is allergic to that.

PositiveMy dad loves the food there....apartment size is decent. He has a lot of boxes of photos (he's 96 and has been taking pics for a good 80 years of that) and we still need to figure out where that's going to go...but that's an us thing. Important to be clear about special accommodations...though my dad was forgetfully dismissing some services he was initially requesting. But if you communicate with staff they are super helpful. my dad loves Atria in general. They seem pretty consistently solid.
