Harborview Senior Living would be all right for me. They had told me that I have to be 65, which I'll be 65 in another month or so. The one-bedroom is OK, but it is so expensive. The only way I'd be able to afford that is if my disability case comes through. Together with my Social Security, I could afford it. Everything was pretty good there. There were just a few things, like not being able to cook. If you get a microwave, you have to pay for it every month. If you get a TV, you have to pay for it every…

I found that the staff was very attentive to my loved one's needs and was in constant communication with me regarding health. Only staff member I was not 100% happy with was the facility Dr (nurse was good) who was very difficult to reach ... however all other staff was great.

The very last one that I visited was Harborview Senior Living. It's a beautiful place, it's very nice, but they don't cater to people with dementia. It's for people who are on their own and who don't have big problems like my sister. My sister needed one-on-one care and someone to attend to her 24 hours a day, so that wasn't the place, although it was a nice place. Harborview - Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn..... I would like to say the staff was phenomenal, very attentive to my father's needs and tried to make him feel at home as much as possible for an assistive living facility. They treated him with utmost care and he felt as if they were his friends as well. They check on the residents throughout the night to ensure their safety.
