CriticalMy 86 year old mother needed rehab after being in the hospital for 10 days. I chose this place because of their location. I have never had to place my mom in rehab before so I didn't know. Do NOT ever allow your loved one in this place. While their therapy staff was WONDERFUL their nursing staff was abusive and neglectful. Even their PT staff was disgusted with their nursing staff. I've had to place my mother in rehab again and I told the case worker to find something with the highest rating.

CriticalMy sister-in-law started out at Austin Wellness and Rehabilitation. It's just depressing, and I really wanted to find some place for her that is cheerier and not so grim. It's sad visiting her. It wasn't secure enough for her. She kept leaving or trying to leave, that's why she had to go to the other nursing facility. She moved in early March of last year, then they had a lockdown. I was able to visit her and had dinner with her each night for 2 or 3 days after she got there, then after that, no…

CriticalHeartland Health Care Center was pretty sad. One of the first things I noticed was the smell on the second floor. It wasn't very clean. The location was in a beautiful, wooded area. The man who showed me around was nice, but the employees were unhappy. There was a place where a bunch of people were watching TV and wheelchairs were out into the hall and down the hall. It was blocking the fire exit, and it wasn't an adequate space for what they were doing. One of the tables in one of the rooms was dirty, so…

CriticalMy wife and I showed up today to find my grandmother lying on the floor, where she had been for over an hour. When we knocked on the door she was screaming, "Help! Help! Please come in!" Though obviously not loud enough to alert anyone down the hall, loud enough so that we could clearly hear her from the hall. Upon further investigation we found that she had been lying there for over an hour. The nurse that my wife first found (Rose) was very quick to try to assess the situation. My wife then alerted a second pers…

PositiveWe toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. We've actually had experience with this community in the past as well with another loved one. It is a clean, well kept facility, and the staff are all friendly and helpful for the most part. The price is very fair for the level of care that they provide. They do not have much in the way of activities, however.

PositiveMy mother has already gone into Heartland Health Care Center. I wanted something that did have Medicaid in case we do run out of money because $4500 a month does add up fast no matter how much money you have. I love the courtyard aspect of it. The people were lovely, and it was an older facility which my mother would like. She’s very happy there. The staff has been great; service has been wonderful. Any issues I’ve had, I’ve talked them over with them, and it’s been dealt with and resolved, so I’m very happy. The i…
