Room for Improvement

Overall Brighton Gardens is good but they have ripped open my mom's leg using the hoyer lyft. I believe they could use more training.

Our family's experience

We visited Brighton Gardens a couple of times as we explored options for my mom. The staff (including sales, consierge, activities director, nurse, and executive director) were very helpful, patiently answering all our questions, introducing us to residents, and serving us lunch. The community areas are bright and inviting, like a family room at home, and unlike other places we visited that seemed blandly institutional. And Mom's room is spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Her neighbors are friendly and welcoming.

Tour guide [name removed], did not show up. Waited an hour. Receptionist gave tour but could not answer questions. People nice and seemed to think Dad would do fine in assisted living: [name removed] later called me and asked me a few questions (never seeing dad) and said only memory care was an option for dad for $[removed] + a month and only the shared room available.

I would not recommend

We moved my grandma out a few months after she moved in. Their billing was off a few times. Their prices kept increasing. We had many meetings with them about my grandmas care and was met with attitude. When we finally disputed the costs they stated maybe this wasn't a good fit and we should find elsewhere for her to go. A few days later we got a call from them saying that my grandma tried to leave the facility (which she has no memory of doing). They made us hire a care aid to come in that we had to pay separately…

It seemed really nice at first. As i waited for the tour guide I attempted speaking with a resident on how she liked it. She said it was not bad but then then asked had Intasted the food. She was going to tell me but as the tour guide approached she quieted and put her head down. Later the guide told me she was a complainer. The main sales man who flew in from Atlanta was personable. However that's his job. They showed me the studio model which was nice. I liked the setup but the price kept increasing and the servi…

Compassionate care for people who need it the most.

I have no complaints. Father is in reminiscence care. My dad is receiving excellent care. It is a good fit for my dad. However, it's a very emotional time to be there seeing the people. Visitors should prepare their hearts when visiting. It's difficult.
