I checked about 5 or 6 facilities until I had it narrowed down to just a couple. I took mom with me to have lunch with the 3 possibilities. Mom and I both had to have a second look at Brookdale, which we chose. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The staff were friendly, knew everyone’s name and treated them like their own family. I knew all the staff, they also became my family. Our friend who is really a family member needed to move from the assisted living community she was living in to one with more care. She has dementia and had broken her hip. Brookdale became her new, and for her situation, a much better community. It’s very homey, much smaller and more intimate, and the residents are a wonderful group of people with different needs, but all thriving at Brookdale, our friend included!
