I would definitely recommend to those searching.

I would rate them all except food. That I would give a 4. My parents are picky. The staff is very accommodating. Our flight was later in the day/evening. They had staff held later to check my parents in and provide much needed meal. Both my parents got an appointment with their primary onsite doc. They are going to be using their onsite, dental, PT, and hair salon. Both seem happier than when they were in Port Orange FL at the Gallery. It's very homey, with way less residents. Yes I would recommend to others

The facility is kept clean and with the exception of the Air Conditioning well maintained. This past summer issues with the AC were slow to be addressed. It remains to be seen if the temporary window unit becomes the permanent solution. Food has been a challenge. When my folks first moved it was excellent. The chef quit and it's been hit or miss ever since. Overall care has been very good. They're attentive and respond for assistance in a timely manner.

Our family's experience - would never recommend

The staff (nurses, aids, chefs, front desk) were all so sweet to my mom. Otherwise the whole place felt like a sales job. "If you commit now we will lower the admin fees. You better make a decision quickly or the room will go to somebody else" When my mother wasn't the "easiest" resident, they literally pushed us out the door. The last time was she was sent to Hartford Hospital for noncompliance (from the memory care unit) because she didn't want to go to bed. She had dementia. I'm sure she wasn't the only person…

My relative was in Brookdale West Hartford. The location was very nice. It was a very clean facility. The parking was good. Her room was very well taken care of and very well put together. It had easy access to everything that she needed. Meals were included. They had accessibility for all wheelchair patrons. They offered meals in your room or in a dining area. Quality of care is good, available activities are good, food was great but they've changed chefs, so now it's declined. The facility is clean and well maintained - it's great. The apartment is very spacious and bright. Perfect for a couple.
