My experience with this facility in the memory care unit was not good. Inadequate and inexperienced staff led to my family member falling and resulted in her death.

I visited this facility

I visited Carrick Glen Senior Living. It was very clean, but it was kind of dark. The people were very nice. Maybe just because it was an older facility that's why it seemed dreary. There wasn't a whole lot of light in the common areas, probably because of the way the facility was laid out. It was a much smaller facility, too. I saw the dining area, and they had a rotating menu.

The facility and the villas are very nice, but the atmosphere is kind of depressing. The lady who was at the front desk told me not to buy into the meal plan because of how bad the food was. The residents here also did not seem as happy and upbeat as other places I looked at.

We went to Carrick Glen Senior Living. I like the people that we met. The building had a new edition for assisted living, so we like that. Also, it's very quiet and not right next to any major roadways or anything like that. The apartment that we looked at had an outside porch, and they had courtyards for the residents.

I like Carrick Glen Senior Living. They had nice individual homes with attached garage. I visited a 2-bedroom 2-car garage, and I liked the individuality of the home. They just didn't have enough availability, but they had a waiting list. The dining room was nice and decorated. The staff explained to me about the meal plan, and they had a separate building for the activities.

Everything in Carrick Glen was exactly what we we wanted for my parents. Everything was fine. They were all very friendly, very helpful, and everything was great. They had an activities room, dining room, and scheduled excursions for them.
