I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Mom received excellent care at Commonwealth Senior Living at Radford. They had plenty of activities to keep her occupied during the day. She loved the food, the people, and there was a lot of social interaction with other patients. My interaction with the staff was very good. Her apartment was a combination living room, bedroom with an adjoining bath, and a large walk-in closet. They have virtual trips for the residents. They did actual trips for the ones who were able to go to wineries and different events in the …

Good sales, little assistance

As a resident of independent living the facilities were satisfactory and adequately maintained. If staff assistance was needed after the initial sales period, good luck. No returned calls, no guidelines or communication when moving out. They apparently find it acceptable to hold onto lease deposit and other monies owed for several months following move out with no communication as to why. If doing this to their independent renters, I shudder to think what predatory practices are in place with dependent renters.

Our family's experience

It has the potential of being a great place but supervision needs to be tighter. Too much of people standing around either waiting for others to do job or things just not getting done. I felt they wanted my husband to go on hospice so the facility staff didn't have to do as much. He was in memory care & I always felt the residents there didn't get as much attention as others & they needed more.

Staff is very dedicated to residents from what I have seen. Regardless of their position, of Director, Nursing Director, Recruitment or Events Coordinator, all are willing to assist in any way possible. The only negative is there is not enough staff. We are very pleased with Commonwealth Senior Living at Radford.

I toured the assisted living of Commonwealth Senior Living at Radford. The staff was very nice. I didn't sample the food but saw it, and it looked good. The facility was very nice, but it lacked a library and some of the amenties.
