PositiveOur experience with Commonwealth Senior Living
Compared to similar places we saw I would rate Commonwealth as 5 starts as some places were just not appealing at all. Overall however I would say our experience was a 4.5. We were happy with the size of the room, the cleanliness of the place and the care of mom. The office staff was exceptionally good and most of the care staff as well. We visited at all times of the day and evening and the care seemed to be consistent. Mom chose not to participate in the activities so we don't have much to comment on those but th…

The staff that I have had contact with are very good, efficient, and caring. The facility is very clean. Room cleaners could do better re: floors walls . Kitchen staff generally have really good well balanced meals. I do think the weekend coverage is a little bit less than desired.

I went and visited the Commonwealth Senior Living at the West End. The coordinator was very outgoing, friendly, and knowledgeable about the facility and the residents. The staff was friendly. The place was nice and clean. They had nice-sized rooms, but the only one they had available was a companion room, which would not work out.

My mom has moved into Commonwealth Senior Living at the West End. The day we moved in, they were wonderful. They helped me with everything. I could not have been more pleased. They have a salon, and they give you towels. They supply a lot of things. They have music and they have different programs. My mom will be 101 in December, so she's not doing a lot of activities, but they do have a lot to offer. My mom says the food is very good. The building is very well taken care of. The tour we had at Commonwealth Senior Living at the West End was fine, but it felt very much like a nursing home to me. I didn't care for it; it was not really what we were looking for for my mom. To me, it felt like a hospital setting. The one bedroom was so small, she wouldn't be able to fit her bed in there. All I saw was the dining room and a couple of small outdoor areas. Everybody that we met at Commonwealth Senior Living at the West End was wonderful. The receptionist couldn't have been more pleasant when we walked in. She was welcoming.
