PositiveMy mom is in a nursing home, she is at Elderwood at Grand Island right now. I would have liked to put her in an assisted living, but she wasn't strong enough. I chose that nursing home because my brother lives about a mile away from it on Grand Island and he can visit there regularly. The staff members have all been very good. The room sizes are nice. The upkeep is good. My mom loves the food; she likes the place. However, it's so expensive.

PositiveMy husband was at Elderwood at Grand Island for rehab. It was great. It was better than the other rehab facility he had been in. I was very pleased. It was very clean. There was no hospital kind of smell. The staff was very friendly. They took good care of you. It was very nice. I only had a couple of meals with him. They have a separate area if you're having a meal with a loved one and it's just across from where all the other patients are having dinner with each other. The staff would get the tray of fo…

PositiveMy father was at Elderwood at Grand Island. Everyone was very nice. They're very helpful in getting approval for the insurance for my father. I really can't think of anything negative. The staff members were all very pleasant, very nice, and very helpful. The building was very clean, very easy to navigate, and very easy to get around.

CriticalMy dad stayed at Elderwood at Grand Island. If it weren't for the aides, my father would not have gotten any help. It was very difficult to reach a social worker. It was very hard to get him discharged. They didn't have the paperwork in order. My father fell in there, and I don't think it's acceptable that somebody should fall. If it weren't for the aides, I don't believe my father would have made as good a recovery as he did in the 28 days he was there. There were no activities. The f…

PositiveElderwood at Grand Island was very welcoming and very pretty, and the atmosphere was very clean. It was like walking into a hotel. The staff was very nice and trained very well. They were doing physical therapy with people there. They were nice and pretty busy. They did a beautiful job landscaping the outside. They had a little courtyard with a birdfeeder in it.
