We like that Emerald Cottages of Kerrville had a two-bedroom, two-bath. It was 1350 square feet, which was more than anything else we saw, and it had a garage attached. It seemed like a well-maintained and better-run place. The staff was very good and the facilities were excellent. We also liked that the bedrooms were separated, one on one side and one on the other. WE love it here! Everything is terrific. The staff is absolutely top notch : professional, friendly, ultra helpful. When we need a light bulb changed or some such, they are Johnny on the spot. We are independent and aren't looking for lots of activities but we attend most and enjoy them. It really IS a community! Just the right size for us. The other residents are friendly and welcoming. My dad is doing just fine and loving life. The staff are the main reason he is doing well. He is in the independent side and the people that are working there are absolutely phenomenal. They befriended him and check on him, they are great. He prepares his own meals in his apartment, he is still cooking. We wanted the best for my dad and he is in a great spot. When I retire I want to go there too.
