My dad moved into Encore at Champlin. They were very kind. I liked that they were welcoming when we walked through the front door. I like the amount of time that they check on him. They're very good. They serve three meals a day. I have not tried the food, but my mother has, and she said it was wonderful. There's a sink counter area with a refrigerator, carpeted, and good-sized bathrooms, and then you bring whatever he would like from your home. You furnish your own mattress and furniture. They sold their self as a memory care and assisted living, but then when my dad needed more memory care help and has behavioral issues, they did not want him anymore. They also told me when he moved in that he could smoke outside and once they had him there for a few months told me that he could not. It felt like a bait and switch. My husband moved into Encore at Champlin. It's very small and intimate and he's separated from the assisted living because he's in memory care. And so he's got a whole staff that looks after him. The facility was nicely decorated. They have a big sitting area with a piano and crafts for the people. They have an outdoor area fenced in with flowers and walking. You can walk around. CriticalNOT A PLACE FOR MOM!
The staff are AWFUL and very RUDE to not only the residents but the families of residents. They sometimes blame their heavy accents on miss communication when in reality they’re lying and trying to cover their tracks. The food is DISGUSTING looking/ tasting and the kitchen and cook don’t look clean. I’ve seen dirty dishes and cups come out the kitchen and then being given to residents to use.
