Best subsidized independent living we found in St Louis area

Very happy with our choice. Other subsidized housing facilities were nice, and staff and residents were friendly, but Gambrill Gardens was another tier above them. Residents were very friendly while we were on our first tour without Mom, during her first tour, and after she moved in. No care provided, because this facility is for independent living only. Outstanding!

My dad was hesitant to leave his home of 45 years. The staff and other residents have made him feel completely at home. He loves the activities, the exercise classes and the food! He tells me daily that the staff treats him like family. I'm so glad we found Gambrill he has a new outlook on life since he's not living by himself.

I have chosen Gambrill Gardens because of its location, their services, and the price. I like the staff. They're friendly. The facility is very clean, very pretty, very nice, and very comfortable. The apartments are pretty, modern, and very nice, too.

I visited this facility

Gambrill Gardens was very clean and very nice. One meal is included, and the menu is nice, like shrimp and grits and brisket. Then you go downstairs in the dining room, and it was nice. They got free Starbucks coffee. I looked at two rooms, a one-bedroom that's nice and big, and you get your own kitchen and a closet, and I looked at a studio that's nice and clean as well, and you get your own bathroom and your own kitchen. The kitchens were small.

Gambrill Gardens is one of the facilities I visited. It was newly updated, and it seemed very well taken care of. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Those are the things that stand out. They would take the residents to their appointments, and they have a meal plan, which is important. They have lots of social opportunities. It was very nice.
