Grand Living Park at Lake Mary

We have had several incidents and concerns about our family members care and have brought them up to corporate on several occasions. Corporate seems to be more concerned about marketing and independent living than they do regarding the memory care section of their community in Lake Mary. It is the adopted step child of the three buildings. We are very disappointed at this time. We loved the community when our loved one was able to live independently but not now.

We had a great staff person named Drew who showed us around Grand Living Park at Lake Mary. He was awesome. He'd been associated with them for a good long time. He knew the history of the place. He was very knowledgeable. He could sell me a car. The public rooms down on the first floor were beautiful, and they had recently been redone, I think, and everything downstairs was beautiful. We toured Grand Living Park at Lake Mary. It's not a new construction. Grand Living purchased this older complex in Lake Mary, and it is now going through a 100% renovation. However, we did not like the main building. The style was very old and antiquated, and needed a great deal of upgrading. We looked at the villas, which were extremely spacious but needed a lot of work. We didn't like the cabinetry. It was just old, likely a 20 to 25-year-old facility, and it was right near Highway 4. I hate this place. They treat people just ok, but care is not great. They train memory care residents to use diapers as opposed to taking them to the bathroom. It makes it easier on the attendants. The “attendants “ are babysitters.

It was a great place for my grandparents. They had a beautiful one bedroom deluxe apartment that was spacious enough to accommodate them both. The staff was super friendly and you could tell they really cared about the residents like their own families. They had a lot of activities but the best was their daily happy hour. The staff is very good. The food is great, too. What I really like is that it has three separate buildings (one for independent, one for assisted living, and one for memory care). They're all separate. I'm in the independent living and it seems like a normal living process instead of being mixed together with all the others. Everybody is pretty good in this building.
