I visited this facility

We toured Heritage Woods of McHenry. The only downside, I felt the rooms were a little bit small. They were very accommodating. One thing my husband noted is that many people who work there have a lot of longevity. So, if the staff is happy with the facility, that means that the residents are good and happier as well. Everything was very nice.

I worked at Heritage Woods of McHenry for 3 and a half years and it was an amazing experience. My co-workers were like family always putting the residents first. I still miss my residents and co-workers, but I'm thankful for all that I learned while working there and highly recommend Heritage Woods as a great place both for residents to live in and for people looking for employment.

Really liked what I saw and actually got back on their waiting list in case another community doesn't work out. The timing they offered did not work with our move in timing we needed for our loved one. At the time trey seemed a tad less organized and the guest rooms had no separation between living and sleeping. The bathroom was right when you walked in. Their shower had no lip which was nice; another community had a lip which is unnerving. Why would ANY facility for old folks build a non-walk in shower?!?!? It t…

Heritage Woods of McHenry is close by, it's very well taken care of, and they seem to care about their people. They have staff on hand to help as needed. There are plenty of different choices for food. My dad would be able to bring his own furniture and things there that are his own. It just seemed like it would be the perfect fit for him. They have activities and they take people to shop once a week. They showed us all different things that they had a whole list of. I saw all the events that they had planned …

a nice community

We are happy that our in-laws are happy at Heritage Woods because that was a big concern for us. The are starting to make friends and join in all the activities which helps get them out of their room. They do like their room it is really nice. The first week they loved the meals and everything about it, but now we aren't sure where the disconnect is because the meals can be a hit or a miss and when the food is served it is not as hot as it should be.

Our tour experience was very unorganized. We showed up for our appointment and it took half an hour of waiting before they found someone to show us around. The facility was not very clean and the staff were not friendly.
