I can not say enough good things about how friendly and helpful the staff is. If he has any issues he knows he can ask anyone for help and it is freely given. The facilities are very well maintained and in the 6 months he has been there you see active signs of upkeep. If you have any issues they are very responsive. The only complaint my father has is with the food. They have a very expansive menu with numerous alternative choices if you do not want something on the main menu. In dad's younger days he said that if he needed to be at any facility he would only go to Independance Village. This has been a wonderful place for him to live! Independence Village of Grand Ledge has been very responsive to the changes Mom has been going through. She had a stroke and a broken arm, and when she first showed up, she had a bunch of care, but she's gotten better. Her arm was healed, but she still needs assistance. They are doing a great job of making sure that she gets her medications and keeping her active with the activities. I really like the activities directors and activities. On the weekends they do not staff as well. Sit at door and no one answers to let you in. They could use better maintenance. Room size is good. Staff spends a great deal of time on their cell phones.
