Before signing a contract and making a deposit at Lasell Village, carefully read the fine print. When you (or your parent) leave, they can hold on to your deposit indefinitely--until they find another tenant. The marketing department will tell you they have a long waiting list. But it can take months or even years, during which time they can hold on to potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars. They may (or may not) offer you an estimate of when they expect to fill your spot and refund your money but they will n…

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

In our family's experience (13 years with our mom as a resident), there are two Lasell Villages: The first is the "front line" staff who are exceptional: dedicated, caring and always willing to go the extra mile. The second is the leadership who--we learned after an accident that could have been avoided had the property safety protocols been in place--have misplaced priorities. Lasell Village has many positive attributes to offer but the president and board have changed the direction from a cohesive …

My Mother was a resident of Lasell Village for 13 years. My husband and I spent many hours at the facility during that time and we were always delighted by the facility. The meals were extremely well cooked with a wonderful menu from which to choose. The apartment was lovely, the rooms were spacious and the windows allowed lots of light and nice views. The staff were always courteous and responsive There was always so much to do, Mother particularly loved working on her garden and taking classes at Lasell Universit…

In the time of Covid 19, there are many safety precautions set up. Each patient is the only one in the room. Staff wear safety PPE and change it after taking care of each patient. Staff are friendly and professional. The Activity staff offers newspaper, books, arts and crafts and games. There are virtual programs and classes to watch on television too. Rehab staff is patient and very encouraging. The food is delicious and not your typical institutional fare. Place is clean and well-kept. This is a small hidden gem …

The surroundings are nice and it is clean. That's the only thing good about it. The staff is non-responsive. My Dad, 90 years old and legally blind, fell out of bed 3 times (we had told them he needed the bed alarmed for this reason and they ignored us). He had to crawl to his room-mate's side of the room to get him to call the desk. The staff was not responsive when you pressed the call button and they were also very rough when trying to reposition my Dad. Within 3 days of being there, we had to take him…

I am/was a resident of this facility

My Husband and I have been residents at Lasell Village for three years and constantly tell anyone how happy we are to have made the decision to make the Village our home. The residents value the intellectual environment that exists through discussions and classes that we take. The Village is a very friendly and casual place to live.
