My feelings about my mother’s assisted living facility are mixed. I do want to recognize the people who have made a real difference in her life. There are staff members here who are incredibly kind, loving, and attentive to my mom, and I am very grateful for them. Knowing that there are caregivers who genuinely care about her gives our family a sense of comfort. The owner is truly dedicated to her residents; a main reason Mom is here. My wife and I had been searching for just the right place for my brother with his special needs. Locust Lodge provides more of a home like setting not a clinical setting. We were impressed by the clean and safe living space. And the attention that the residents receive. Moving my brother to Locust Lodge was a big transition. The staff helped to put my brother at ease. It gave us peace of mind knowing that my brother was safe and supported. My brother is still at Locust Lodge and it's been over 3 years now.

The atmosphere at Locust Lodge made my dad feel like it was home and not an institution setting. We searched for many assisted living homes before choosing Locust Lodge. With my dad being a bit difficult, many of the staff was understanding, warm and had a good sense of humor which I believe is important for dealing with the elderly. My dad enjoyed the home cooked meals and loved sitting on the front porch. My dad always liked being around people and having someone around and this place was a perfect fit.

Locust Lodge Assisted Living is a big house. I didn't think that it would be a good fit for him because, on one side, you had to go down the steps to get into the room. Then you had to go up steps to get into the bathroom, and my father couldn't do that. The staff took me to the small section attached to the house on the other side. There was one room there, but it needed a lot of aesthetics. It was just being used as storage right now. The staff was attentive. She answered all my questions. She asked me …
