I've been to Longwood Plantation. The environment was just inviting just walking in. I know a resident who lives there; she was previously in another home that I used to visit, and she's here now. She gave me a beautiful tour, walking around showing me the place. It was really very uplifting, very clean, friendly, and it's a beautiful place. We are happy we found such a small and nice community for my Auntie. At first, we didn't know how it was going to go for her at Longwood. But the place is clean and the staff is nice. We love that they have a small amount of people at the facility, I've only seen about fifteen to twenty people there. My Auntie has settled in and she loves it there. Clinical and administrative staff would benefit from dementia disease process training and how to compassionately care for residents with dementia. Also, all staff would benefit from training on all signs and symptoms of a possible urinary track infection in the elderly. So that they may be proactive with timely treatment for such.
