I visited this facility

I toured Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center, a continuing care community in Laurens. I have chosen it for myself because it's just very welcoming and very comfortable. It's beautiful, like living in a park. I enjoy the outdoor space. I have friends who live there already, so it just works for me all the way around. It's warm and inviting, and I feel comfortable there. They're concerned about you, and they want what works for you, not what works for them. I had lunch there and the food was v…

My Dad was at Marth Franks for 3 1/2 years. The staff and managers were absolutely great. Couldn't have asked for better care for my Dad.

Martha Franks had what we were looking for. We were impressed with their staff and their facilities. The houses were very good. They have activities, dining, long-term care, assisted living, and individual homes. The food was very good, and the dining area was very nice and large. There's a buffet, a salad bar, and a dessert bar. They have an exercise room.

Martha Franks got good staff, a good recreation or activity director, and good activities. They have worship people and churches that come in, and they take excellent care of everybody. They have singers that come in, games they play, and an indoor area where they can watch television. They just do all kinds of activities with them. Those who are mobile, they take them all to Wal-mart or out to eat. For those who are in-house, they have some kind of a therapy thing that they do with them. And they have a place wher…

Martha Franks was a lovely community. Our problem with it was that the independent living was down the hill away from the main buildings so you'd have to use your car to get from the apartment to the dining room or anywhere else, which wasn't especially good. The apartments were lovely, sizable, and on the first floor, so you don't have to use an elevator. The staff was very accommodating, answered all of our questions, and took us around to look at the independent homes, assisted living, and apartme…

The staff is friendly, competent, and helpful, but the administration needs to improve communication. Expectations are high and we want to work with other agencies, but there needs to be more administration and supervisin.
