Having a loved one at Merrill Gardens Bankers Hill when [name removed] was in charge was a very different place than it is without her now. Having [name removed] there was like having your own personal family member there overseeing your loved ones care. Rate 4 for all except for value..since the cost is increasing 10% each year and nothing is changing for the better I feel it isn't warranted. A lot of money is spent on decorations that are not even appreciated. Other than that it's probably one of the better places in San Diego.

We toured Merrill Gardens at Bankers Hill. It's expensive and the salesman has little product knowledge. The tour was for assisted living but they don't have much for assisted living. We don't know because the salesman couldn't answer any questions. They had courtyards. They have lots of activities. They have lots of outings. We're looking at a studio for my mom, so they showed us the studio. They also showed us a one-bedroom. We had a meal. The food was good, but it just was not for my mom…

The most important factor to me in finding a place for my elderly friend was the staff. I don’t care how beautiful a place is or how great a view the apartments have if the staff are not caring and attentive too all the needs of the residents it’s worthless in my opinion. Merrill Gardens on Bankers Hill is led by Lori, an amazing director who goes so far and above what we expected. She truly cares for every residents well being and happiness. My mother will be moving into Merrill Gardens at Bankers Hill. I like that it's small, the location is six blocks from where I work, which is a big seller, and the entire staff was just really on top of everything. The apartment is quite a large studio on the fourth floor with a balcony that overlooks downtown San Diego and the bay. They have a private dining room for family events, they have a rooftop garden, and they also have quite a large lounge and library area for the family. We just had a meal today and…

My Mom was not ready to go into an assisted living facility.......but since she has been there we find that we have to work around her schedule to visit. The activities are endless as well as the friendships that she has made. It is a family environment from the General Manager to the staff and care givers. You can't go wrong leaving your loved ones in their hands.
