My dad was at the assisted living facility of Sharmar Village Care Center, and they were really good to him. They were awesome. One time, it was close to supper, and the cook or the chef came running out when he saw me, my mom, and my dad, and asked if he wanted to eat down in the dining room, or if they should take everybody to eat upstairs. They immediately just noticed that we were there, and he wanted to make sure my dad had his supper. That's just one of the things. When my dad was dying, he also had hosp…

We had an absolutely horrible experience at Sharmar Village. My mom got so sick while she was here. They encouraged me to switch to the in house physician. He was terrible with communication. He left her UTI untreated for 6 weeks and she had to go to the hospital and had E. Coli. Before we moved her out, they took all of her things and said that I said to donate it. They kept her refundable deposit when we should have gotten that back. The room was gross and not clean. They were not bathing her as they said that th…

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My family member loves being at Sharmar. She says they take good care of her. The staff is always helpful. She just loves the activity staff Stephanie, Ashely and Mark. She says they always have many fun things for them to do. The Activity staff is always so helpful and wonderful to all the residents and families. The building is always clean and smells great. It is such a great place to put your loved one.

I knew other people that had lived in Chateau at Sharmar, and I just checked it out to see if it was what we wanted. I had seen the rooms, and I talked to them about the prices. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. It was very quiet and had more of a rest home atmosphere.

Staff is friendly but not aware of policies as they should be. Also they do not ever attempt to find out the policy or answer a question if they don't know. During initial visits the residents room was cleaned regularly. Bathroom needed to be cleaned more often and trash bags removed and replaced not just emptied.
