A Comfortable Home

My sister and I have had, and continue to have, a wonderful experience at Silvergate Assisted Living with the quality of care provided for our mother. She is immobile and staff is extremely helpful and caring. We are very happy! Our loved one is immobile so when it comes to the activities we are unsure of what is there for here and the other resident's.

Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde

Initially, everything was rainbows and unicorns. Everything was wonderful. The staff were fantastic people and took great care of my loved one. They cared for his every need. It was a great place, and we loved them. And I'm really grateful for that part of it. But then after my loved one passed away, it was like a switch flipped, and they changed from Dr. Jekyll into Mr. Hyde. We still have not gotten a refund from them for the amount we paid in advance. They have made an invalid excuse and refuse to budge.

Another big NO for us. Bad smell, trying to be covered up with candles. So. Many. Candles. [name removed] seemed friendly enough, but the husband (I've forgotten his name) was rude, condescending, sexist, and can't let a person finish a sentence or ask a question.

Taking Very Good Care Of My Loved One

We are very pleased with the care my mom is receiving here. It's a small group home with just a few residents and I think that makes all the difference in the world. Mom likes being there the staff is friendly and attentive and she seems to get along with the other residents there. She hasn't complained about the food so she must be liking it I would highly recommend this community.

Silvergate Assisted Living Home was a very nice and clean community that we toured. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We chose another community that was a little fancier for my mom's needs and that provided more female residents.

Not A Good Group Home

I am not happy with this group home, all they do is give my mother medicine to keep her sleeping all day. When I brought up my concerns with the owner, she started arguing with me. I do not like this group home, they are not caring for my mother at all. I would not recommend this group home.
