CriticalReview for Southern Heritage Independent Living
That place was bad. Caregivers were in the car smoking, and on phone. No one was with patients at 9:00 at night.

PositiveSouthern Heritage Assisted Living doesn't offer any services of any kind, and the utilities are not included in the price. I like that they have a washer and dryer and that it's a little bit larger than the other place. It was clean and very nice. They don't provide any food though.

CriticalWe toured Southern Heritage Assisted Living. It was probably my least favorite of all that I visited because it was just kind of out of style. It didn't have a lot of privacy. If you wanted to live in a crowd of people, I guess it would be good, but I kind of felt it was too crowded. The facilities were very small. They were outdated. The staff was nice.

PositiveMy friend moved in. It's not big. There might be 20-something rooms or more. And, they sit out on the porch and talk and she seems to be happy there. They're just one room and they're not big. They have a TV, a stove and a microwave in them. They played bingo and they did puzzles.

PositiveI toured Southern Heritage. The grounds were very nice and pretty. The staff was very accommodating. We found nothing that we would consider a negative. The room they showed was a studio apartment. They had a common area, a TV room, and very pleasant-looking outside grounds. Everything was in good condition. It was not a brand new facility but it was well-maintained. Everything was clean, neat, and very inviting.

PositiveMy mom, as well as my sister & I, were extremely happy with Southern Heritage. They had new activities planned daily & were good about encouraging Mom to participate. The staff was always available to assist or answer questions. Laurie became the new Administrator during Mom's stay. She was also one of the nurses there so did the job of both & was so sweet & kind to everyone. Mom was very happy with the meals and loved participating in activities. I wish we had moved her there sooner. We are so thankful to A Pla…
