The whole facility is beautiful. It was decorated for Halloween! Every staff member I saw was pleasant and said hello. The Community Specialist I spoke to was kind, positive, relaxed, and very knowledgeable! I have been an RN for 44 years and the atmosphere was so comfortable. Our move to South Point has gone very smoothly. The staff and all the residents have been so friendly and helpful from day one. We really like our apartment. We were able to downsize our contents and still have room for all the things we wanted to bring. The building and our apartment were very clean and remain clean every day as the staff here are very diligent about keeping it clean. I am disappointed in the level of communication provided between administration, care staff and families. Our family member moved from independent living to assisted living. We didn't receive a copy of the contract we signed until 2 months afterwards despite being told it would be sent the next day. While the place looks beautiful and is well-kept on the outside, the care given to the residents is sub par: trash not removed daily as advertised, laundry not done weekly, nor done when client has been incontinent. We had a bad experience in our short time at StoryPoint of Medina. The ‘enhanced’ support that was sold to us, and desperately needed did not happen with consistency and when concern was expressed by us rather than improving services we felt we were met with a lack of empathy and no consistent improvement. We’d been talked out of the assisted living we originally sought and into ‘enhanced’ independent care. After a couple weeks we expressed concern that assisted living was needed.
