PositiveMy husband and I visited the facility in late March. The facility was very nice, clean and cheerful surroundings. We met with[Name Removed], the Community Relations Director who was so amazing and helpful. She gave us a tour of the facility and showed us a room that would be used for respite care if my husband needed to stay for a short term. My husband liked the facility also, which was a positive for me. This would definitely be a facility that I would use for my husband in the future if I needed a short-term sta…

PositiveI really enjoyed touring Summerfield of Encinitas with [name removed] (and her team), and impromptu meeting some of the residents along the way. She was there to show me everything, all the details of care and the community and why it provides. She spent so much time with me to hear about our story and answer my questions (and hold space for future ones) Very helpful along the path of finding the right place… Thank you!!

PositiveMy mother is there because it's a small community. She would be overwhelmed and unhappy in a larger place. Because she is mobile and doesn't take medication, I think she gets overlooked. They don't encourage her to get out of her room. They need more and consistent activities. My biggest pet peeve is all her missing stuff. I won't allow them to do her laundry anymore. They have lost 4 sets of sheets, 6 sets of towels, 1/2 her clothes, her winter jacket and even her laundry basket! Would recommend because from what …

PositiveI started volunteering here in my spare time, when it came time for my grandparents it was a no brainer. The community is clean, smells great, and best of they care. Everyone knows Grand name, Hoe she is doing, and even our entire family. We just lost Gran, [name removed] was so committed to making sure we all had what we needed, answering the hard questions, helping find a outstanding hospice, [name removed] the nurse is so knowledgeable and helpful, he is easy to talk to. Oh! Don’t let me forget about the outstan…

PositiveWe looked at several places in San Diego area before choosing Summerfield as a new home for our mom. She has been here since August of 2023 and our family has been very pleased with her care. The facility is relatively small (approx 50 residents in 4 wings), secure, and I am not worried at all about Mom wandering out. The staff is very loving, caring, and attentive to mom's needs. I've also had the pleasure to dine with her and the food is always good! The facilities are clean and well maintained, and there is a l…

PositiveI was very hesitant to move my loved one to a community. Summerfield of Encinitas gave us options of how to move forward. We started with their amazing Day Stay program. Did that for a few weeks to get my dad used to the people and staff. We considered respite to see how he liked staying over night but after much thought we as a family decided to just move forward with moving him in permanently. The staff are incredibly kind, compassionate, patient and loving. Alzheimer’s is such an ugly disease and it’s been so di…
