I toured the independent living community of Summerfield Senior Living of Slidell, and I think it was very nice. I was very impressed with it. I like the fact that it has a big 2-bedroom apartment. The person who gave the tour was very sweet, very nice, and knowledgeable. I think the upkeep was also very well done, although the facility was a little old.

I chose Summerfield Senior Living of Slidell because of the location. Slidell is perfect for me. Everybody was so friendly, and there were a lot of people around, and they would all come up to say hello and introduce themselves. It was just so nice, plus, I know some people there. People were sitting on the front where they had rocking chairs. It's a big southern-looking place. A lot of people's doors were open, which meant to me they felt safe. My father was at Anderson for just 5 weeks. On [date removed], We were told that he fell and broke a rib and had a punctured lung. The call to my mother was not made until from approximately 5:00 pm. However we were told the he fell sometime in the morning. We still do not know when the accident happened. We find it very difficult to believe that he could eat breakfast and lunch and not complain of the severe pain that he was enduring. The staff would not provide any answers to our questions. I went to Summerfield Senior Living of Slidell. I think that one is older and the outdoor area wasn't quite as big. But the rooms were nice and the place was clean. It's just we chose to stay in Gulfport. We didn't have any food there. We just had a tour. But the place was nice. They showed us some apartments. It has a very impressive large room for a studio. My sister just wanted a place with a wall. But the rooms are a nice size, so it's a little more expensive.
