Review for Sumter Terrace Assisted Living

Sumter Terrace was a nice place. More staff is needed. The biggest beef I had was 2 weeks after my Dad passed, they debited my account for $[removed]and it was a month before I got reimbursed. My Dad had dementia and I am sure he was a challenge for the staff. He did need more care than he received as far as making sure that he got meals. Sometimes there would be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on the floor in his room. I wasn't ok with sandwiches.

The Family Advisor greeted us, gave us information, answered our questions and showed us a one-bedroom apartment. She was very professional & efficient, yet very warm and friendly. It is rare in these days, but she was honest and told me that Sumter Grove was a better fit for me at this time. I really appreciated that. The facility was very convenient to everything. It was sparkling clean and nicely decorated. We were really impressed. We felt it was more of a rehabilitation and nursing home facility than assisted…

Outstanding facility

The facility is outstanding, clean, safe, inviting, family oriented. The staff is amazing, respectful, courteous and engaging. I couldn't have imagined a a place for mom. Coming from NC, I was very optimistic, but now, I'm at peace.

Disappointed

It is close to my mother's house, and easily accessible to family & friends. No, we would not recommend. Our mother was at the highest level of care, and we don't feel like she received that level. Her apt/room wasn't cleaned or ready for her when she first arrived. Several personal items went missing. They were reported but never replaced. We felt like if she remained there, she would have declined rapidly.

I liked the way Sumter Terrace Assisted Living was set up. I liked the way the rooms were set up and the way the place was organized. I also liked the fact that the doors were locked for safety, and that it was clean. All the staffers were very nice and pleasant. My mom is there for assisted living. My mom seems to enjoy the food, and other people that stay there say the food is good. My mom is still adjusting with the community, but they have activities during the day. My mother had a short stay

My mother was a resident for a very short time; but during that time I was very happy with the care that she received. Her room was a good size for her and the staff were very friendly. My family and I enjoyed spending time with her there.I would recommend Sumter Terrace to anyone looking for an assisted living facility for a loved one.
