Kind staff where you are cared for like family

I would absolutely recommend them to others- they went above & beyond to help us transition our loved one from a hospital stay to Sylvan. Every staff member is kind & compassionate with the residents!

My mom absolutely loves living at Westshire Assisted Living. The food is delicious, the management is excellent, and the care team truly cares about her well-being. We’re so grateful for the compassionate and attentive environment they provide!

Not recommended

The food there was terrible, most of the staff didn't speak English, and the alarms were never on. The place was horrible. They didn't check on the residents and wouldn't bathe them in a timely manner. Luckily, we went down to see my dad daily or every other day. I would never put someone there. It was awful.

Needs Improvement

They don't do their job like they should. They don't follow through with things. We have had issues with the care services since my love one has moved in. My loved one hates the food. They serve hot dogs, and childlike food. They just started with the activiites. Memory care and asssited living is not separate. This is not a place that I would recommend.

Ups and downs

There have been a lot of issues finding and maintaining staff just like everywhere else right now. They do their very best - but it has been a struggle. They are having a hard time finding an activities director so there is not a lot going on. The cook that they have right now is really good. The director is amazing, she is great as far as communication with the family and addressing issues as much as she can.

I visited this facility

We found the Sylvan Crossings At Westshire satisfactory. They were basically all one-bedroom suites with full baths. The rooms were very nice. They had just completed renovations. The room that they showed us was very nice. It was newly renovated. They showed us the common area, which was very nicely furnished, and there was another small common area. I did not see any area where they could do activities, exercises, or any type of group activities. But the common area was where the seating was -- basically sofas an…
