I toured the independent living community of The Carillon in Greensboro. It's a very nice community, quiet, and fits all my needs. I told the tour guide that I could see myself living there. It has a full kitchen, and there is enough room for me. The bathroom was comparable to independent living communities, and I liked it. There were only two floors there, but it has an elevator. I toured The Carillon. It was nice. They were very welcoming. The rooms were small, but she said they were all the same size. They just arrange them differently. Some areas in the room are bigger than others, but it was nice. I just didn't like the idea of not having a dining room and having to be in Greensboro. Jen was helpful, answered all my questions, was friendly, and gave me a great tour. Everything was great. I have no complaints whatsoever.

Our experience having our father at The Carillon has been great. They have a lot of activities. They do bingo three days a week and it is staffed 24 hours a day at the front desk. They are very responsive and very personable. You can tell they put the residents as a priority. My father is in a one-bedroom unit with a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, and a walk-in shower. The price at The Carillon was good, but the rooms were just small and they did not have much in terms of amenities. They did not have physical therapy, which is what I needed. The staff were all very pleasant and very professional though. The building was newer and so it's well-maintained.

We went to The Carillon. I like it. For the places in a similar price range, they seemed to have the most community-centered activities and sort of engagement between the staff and residents, so I was impressed with that. They also had the shortest waiting list of any that we have so far. The location for my mom wasn't ideal, but she has put in an application there for the waitlist. That's the one I'm most excited about, and she's very excited about that one, too, but our budget is not there yet…

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I would’ve wanted to know that the facility does not have a generator so if the power happens to go out the way it has today the residents are very cold, they are elderly, and some are on oxygen or other devices that need electricity for them to survive. This is the second time within a couple of years that this has happened. We’ve been asking for a generator for our loved ones there. We have not gotten feedback or generator generator.
