PositiveWatermark assisted living seemed like a pleasant, well-run place. The decor was new and modern. The residents that I saw seemed to be well-groomed, nicely dressed, and upbeat. Lunch was in progress and residents are served at their tables. The menu had plenty of choices. They had some unusual activities listed, such as cooking classes, documentary films and live music, in addition to the more usual ones such as exercise and an outing to the state fair. Overall, our experience was good, and I would give this facility 4 out of 5 stars. The facility was very clean, and my mom especially loved the food—it was one of the highlights of her stay. Most of the caregivers were kind and friendly, although there were a few who were not as welcoming. Our biggest concern was communication. The staff has been great. My dad just fought it at first because he didn't want to be in assisted living. He's adjusting better now. The facility is very clean, and the common areas are bright and cheery. The dining room staff is friendly, and the nursing staff are efficient and timely. Overall, we've had a positive experience.
