I really didn't find any that I didn't like about The Villages at Historic Silvercrest. The suites were nice. The floor plans looked like they would be perfect for what I'd like. The staff was wonderful and they answered my questions. They had a pork barbecue, baked beans, and chips, and I thought the pork barbecue was very good. The place was nice. I liked the rooms. They were roomy, and it would be fine for just one person, which is the way I would go.

Both of our parents have been living in the assisted living section for over a year. The staff takes wonderful care of them. At their prior facility, if one of them became ill or had an infection, they would be transported to the hospital and endure a grueling night and long wait. Here, they often can be treated on the spot in their suite. Also, when our mom had to have eye surgery, the nurses here took wonderful care of her. My wife is a resident of The Villages at Historic Silvercrest. The cleanliness and the staff make the place. The staff were friendly and caring, I haven't met one who isn't. It doesn't feel like a nursing home. It doesn't feel like all the nursing homes I've been in before. Their staff is top-notch, and the food is excellent. Their location is up in a wooded area. We went to The Villages at Historic Silvercrest. All the rooms were of possibly different sizes since it had been a hospital, a sanatorium, and a children's home. There's a slight difference in the room at each one because they had, at various times, served different functions. So that was the thing about it being so old. I lived in the Villages at Historic Silvercrest. It was very cold, and the residents were not friendly. The staff was very friendly, the food was very good, but it was not conducive to one big happy family. They did not work to include people to get to know one another, and be close. There were little cliques, and a new person will find it very hard to fit in.
