We toured Vinson Hall Retirement Community. They have a lot to offer. The striking thing for us is they're the only place we've seen that has access to the outdoors from the unit. You have two doors, a hall entrance, and an outside entrance, and that's the thing that sets them apart. Other than that, they're very similar to all the rest. They have a nice workout room and a swimming pool. They have amenities and so on. They are not however walkable to a lot of places. That would be the only negat…

I visited Vinson Hall and was very impressed with it. A young lady gave the tour who was very efficient, very professional, and very friendly. The dining room areas seemed very pleasant. It looked very good. I liked what I saw.

Vinson Hall is unique in a number of ways. It has a pleasant hilltop campus in McLean that keeps it private even though it lies across the street from a small shopping center with bank, supermarket, drug store, and restaurant. My mother was part of the WWII generation of wonderful, decent, smart people who moved in here between 10 and 20 years ago. She has wonderful friends and Vinson Hall provides them with weekly activity programs, bridge groups, support groups (for the hearing- or sight-impaired for example), a …

Far from acceptable.

This place could not be worse, considering the market in Northern Virginia. The management is abysmal and incompetent. The residents are treated about the way one is in a 7-11. There is a total absence of compassion, but an abundance of hard focus on evaluating every conceivable service as to what precedent it might set, and how it would look to financial oversight. Depressing. Look elsewhere, it won't be hard to beat Vinson Hall.

Vinson Hall Retirement Community is a very nice facility. People seem to be enjoying the food. They have confident nurses. My wife, and I were in an apartment and she had fallen down several times so she had to move to the nursing facility. My apartment has one-bedroom, two-bathrooms, living-,room, and a very small kitchen. It is very comfortable. My wife in the nursing facility has a smaller, but decent-sized room. We have several dining rooms. We have a little bar. We do trips to theatres. People come in here to …

Vinzon Hall was suggested by my daughter. I liked the atmosphere. I went back to see it probably 5 or 6 times and talked to the marketing people. They just built a new expansion, and I found an apartment there, a brand new one that I liked. It was a two-bedroom apartment. I planned to move there in April. I ate there, and I thought the food was good. The staff was very accommodating in showing me around. They gave me a lot of time.
