A great place to live.

The staff and residents are all friendly, there are plenty of activities and the food is excellent. My only regret is that it is all independent living and doesn’t allow for aging in place. It is pet friendly and there are lots of places to walk your dog.

I have toured 2 other facilities thus far, & this is the top of the line. All the staff & residents rave about the care & options available here. A friend of mine joined me on my 2nd visit here & was also thoroughly impressed with what is offered, included & the cleanliness of the entire complex.

I visited this facility

We toured Williams Place Gracious Retirement Living. I liked it best that it was friendly. They had just remodeled, so it was very updated and attractive. The manager and his wife, who run the place, were the ones who gave us the tour. Then we met Sona, and they were both very informative and gave us a lot of information. We were able to see some of the rooms. We saw the kitchen downstairs where you can make a meal. I did not like that your kitchen had no burners to make tea. You had to rely on the microwave.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend was a resident of Williams Place Gracious Retirement Living. I was there all day and the people all seemed happy. There was no depressing atmosphere there. I ate lunch with her, and it was very good. They had a menu where you could pick what you wanted. I didn't have that much interaction with the staff, but I did talk to a couple of them. They had a gym, a library, a movie theater, and walking trails. Everything was clean. They go shopping and to different plays in theaters and stuff like that.

We are on the waiting list for The Pines in Davidson, NC, a CCRC. However, it is expensive and it appears that we are "aging out" there. Richard Fielding took us down to Williams Place and we toured the facility. We liked it and the cost was more suitable. Our concern there is with the long term care aspect, they don't have in house facilities like The Pines. We are going to make another appointment to talk to the Managers, updating our information.

Critical

Williams Place is strictly independent living. Some independent living facilities have medical staff on site, but that is not the case here so it is more like senior apartments. If your loved one has a medical emergency, they have to call the ambulance and take them to the ER. The manager does live on site. The residents here seemed "cliquey".
