We moved my brother in law and his wife, who was living in another long term care facility to the veterans home in truth or consequences, New Mexico They had been on a waiting list. However, we were very pleased with Avamere in Rio Rancho. When the veterans home was available for them both, they wanted to be together. We would recommend Avamere to other families.

The assistance I received from [name removed] and [name removed] was amazing. They took on the difficult task of dealing with the facility in Roswell to arrange my mother's transfer. The assisted living home in Roswell did not make things easy but the staff at Avamere was persistent. They even helped me arrange transport. Once my mother arrived at Avamere everything was ready making for a smooth transition. My mom has been a resident for almost 2 months and I have no complaints.

Avamere at Rio Rancho seemed kind of quiet. What they have that's independent are like little cottages that are separate from the main building. The cottages were kind of their own little community, but they shared the dining facilities. When you're in the main building, it's purely older people, assisted living type.
