Brookdale Ann Arbor

Our family visited this facility for my grandma. The calendar in the folder of the activities didn’t match what I saw. There was nothing going on in memory care area. Staff was friendly. Nurse was very kind and bubbly. Sales guy was alright he was nice and had some good jokes. I talked to a staff member while my family was with the sales guy. No One There, Not welcoming

Walked in and no one greeted us. Sales guy was brash and abrupt but nice. Never asked about my mom or her injuries he said he directs that to a nurse. Felt like he was selling me a car. I asked to meet the director he took me to the office and they weren’t there. Completed tour- memory care I saw staff and residents/clients but only YouTube was on staff were cleaning. Care is overpriced for what you get. Easy to get looked over and overcharged if I wasn't holding them accountable. Entertainment options exaggerated in terms of field trips etc.

Very friendly and professional staff. I liked the homely feeling of the facility. Lots of activities and the menu looked delicious. The tour was also informative, since this was my first tour of an Assisted Living facility.

I was late to what I thought was the time for the appointment and showed up on the wrong day. The director very graciously showed me around Brookdale and answered all my questions fully anyway. I chose not to move my mom from Battle Creek to Ann Arbor because her condition is worsening and I'm afraid a move with just exacerbate that. Overall I had a positive impression of Brookdale Ann Arbor. The facility had no major items that were negative. Minor items were the location, possible limited parking. Further research would be needed for both positive and negative items. While laundry service is available, I do not know if a laundry area is available for residents to use or what condition the various amenities are in. Brookdale is on my list of places to consider.
