I toured Clarendale Ann Arbor. What I like best about it is that it doesn't feel institutional. It feels very home-like. I looked at one sample and the floor plans of the others, and they're very similar to the other places. The staff was very pleasant and informative. I saw the pool, exercise space, dining rooms, and outdoor area.

We're on the waiting list. It is beautiful. They have a lot of activities, and the people seem happy there. The people I spoke to seemed friendly. They listened, and they presented well. We saw the menu, and we tasted their food. The menu and the food were excellent. They had nice equipment in their exercise room, too.

wonderful transition

It is exceptional! Not a "value" place but exceptional care for the price! I like that my mom is content, more self sufficient in many ways, mentally more than anything. She feels respected and knows her preferences for the way things are done are listened to even if they can't always be accommodated 100%. Balfour is consistent in saying "This is your home. It is our job to learn who you are and how you like things done." Great philosophy and often works that way. They were willing to adapt the room to her needs.…

Review for Balfour Ann Arbor

We picked this community because of the services, the care, and the food...I will repeat, the food are far superior to the other two assisted-living places she has been in. The apartment itself is better than one of the previous residence. She has a washer and dryer in her studio apartment, and a schedule for laundry assistance when she needs it, sheet changing assistance etc. She no longer has to fret about losing clothes, and bed pads, etc, which happened frequently

My loved one is a resident at Balfour Ann Arbor. Overall, our experience with this facility has been good so far. The staff that is there is great, but there's not enough staff. It's hard to find people to work, that's their biggest problem.....not enough help for the residents. Overall, I would for sure recommend this facility to family and friends.

Our family had an in person tour with Balfour Ann Arbor and this place was other the top. However it did not offer open dining. They had set times for breakfast, lunch & dinner. I think the open dining option offered by [community name removed] is a big selling point. The Balfour had a pool & hot tub. Personally I think that is not a strong selling point. The Balfour is located 1.5 miles from "The Big House" - University of Michigan Football Stadium so lots of traffic. This place catered to highly educated, wealthy…
