CriticalWithin a year, my friend was gone. She entered this facility walking with a walker. Within four months, they stopped walking her and placed her in a reclining wheelchair, secured behind a tray for most of the day. Her mobility and independence disappeared quickly. She went from talking and walking to repeatedly asking how she could get out. Eventually, she often didn’t recognize much around her. But she still smiled. She was still in there. She valued solitude and independence. Instead, she spent her days in a c…

CriticalWithin a year, my friend was gone. She entered this place walking. Within four months, she was no longer walking and was spending her days reclined in a wheelchair—not even what I would consider a real wheelchair, but a contraption where she was secured in place by a tray in front of her. I watched her change from someone who could walk and talk into someone who mostly asked how she could get out. Eventually, there were many times when she didn’t seem to recognize much of anything anymore. She still smiled. She was…

Positive. I would definitely recommend Hillside Terrace as a quality place to live. I would give it at least a 4 in all categories. Hillside Terrace seemed to have a good sense of family and community. Staff were friendly. Felt more like a home than a facility housing many people.

CriticalIt hasn't been the best placement so far. We feel a little lied to about activities and events - those are things that were really important to us & they aren't happening. I know staff is hard to come by but there are hardly any residents here - why were we told there was such limited space? I don't think he's being mistreated, but when my mom was at [community name removed] the communication and programming was much much better.
