I am/was a resident of this facility

We were in independent living at Brooks Howell. There were only two levels, which is another reason why we had to move, because my husband really needed memory care, and they didn't offer it. There were a lot of really warm, caring people. I never met such a group of warm, caring people who really love each other and take care of each other, even if you're complete strangers. It's just amazing to me. It was basically a religious community. It is run by the Methodists. The food was delicious. We had o…

I visited this facility

Brooks-Howell Home is a very different facility. It's older, but I like it. It's a more established community. It's a very different kind of community. It's more of an ala carte, so you pay for the meals that you want to receive. I appreciated the staff that I interacted with. The apartments themselves were very nice. For me, I also like the proximity to my home. The staff who toured me was lovely. It's a beautiful campus. There's a courtyard. It's in the woods, there's plent…

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My friend has been very comfortably placed at Brooks Howell. She couldn't cook her own meals. She can dress herself and she is allowed to be taken out. I wanted to take her out to church in some days and they were very careful to make sure they got her sister's permission. They had good methods. Then when I …

My grandmother is being taken care of by a great staff of physical therapists and attendants. She has several programming events to participate in per day and she seems to be comfortable in her living situation

This retirement home is a great place for my grandparents. They currently live in their own home on the premises, where they are surrounded by neighbors, all of who have served in the Methodist Church. The best thing about this place is that they have their own home and can maintain their independence, but with certain services that make us (their family) and them feel better. For example, there is a yearly full cleaning of the house. Gardening and maintenance is taken care of (unless they want to do it themseleves…
