Harmony at Chantilly

Would not recommend for moderate stage dementia

I'll start with the good. We had toured a number of facilities in our price range and landed on Harmony for a few reasons: 1. The sales director who gave me the tour was great. She seemed knowledgeable in senior care but more importantly, she listened and validated our concerns.; 2. The gym. Overall highly satisfactory.

The food was not good. Wait time after ordering ranged from 10-40 minutes. Many meals were cold. One male waiter would forget items, say he would bring them, but many times just ignored the requests. Many dishes were not presented in traditional ways and not particularly good. Definitely a 1 rating. Activities were somewhat limited or were opposite choir practice. Review for Harmony at Chantilly

While the rooms are clean and nice and the food is reasonable, they are severely understaffed. The CNA staff are spread too thin and unable to provide accommodations promised. For example, it is rare for a CNA staff to bring my mom to any activities., they are unaware of the activities and are too busy to assist. I find that I must remind the CNA staff to change her sheets, to do her laundry and give her a shower. The lead CNA is also very unresponsive. The weekend help is almost nonexistent. My mother's Assisted Living experience

Rooms are large and easy to move around in a wheel chair or walker. The head nurses (Life was the daytime) were excellent and on top the care, although you might have to wait for longer than you wanted. My mother was not very patient and this was difficult for her. The food was average when my mom first went there but improved to good when they got a new chef and dining director. Above and beyond

The sales staff and nursing staff were awesome. Though my dad was only an official resident for about a week, the team really tried to improve his quality of life.

Very enthusiastic tour with [name removed]. Her passion for her work and the residents was palpable. I appreciated her time and openness to my questions.
